Casey & I just got home from the Highlands Marriage Conference a few hours ago. It was awesome! We are incredibly passionate about marriage and relationships. We feel that there is no greater gift on Earth than godly marriages. It is so incredible and challenging to think about God's plan for marriage as described in Ephesians 6, that our marriages are to be a picture of Christ and the church! What a huge responsibility and a beautiful picture at the same time! I can truly say that Casey has shown me God's love like I have never known before. Knowing how much and how unconditionally he loves me and then to think that God's love for me is even greater is just amazing! I am so thankful for Casey.
That said, we still have plenty of room for growth in our marriage. We learned a lot this weekend and are looking forward to what God has in store for us. We purchased a ton of great resources and are excited about digging in together as we strive to make our marriage all that God intended it to be! One fun book that came in one of the bundles we got is Love Talk Starters. It is full of questions to ask each other, similar to the Table Topics that we already have. If you know me, I LOVE games and fun quizzes. I looked through the book already, and it has great, fun questions to really engage you in conversation with your spouse. I'm super excited about this. Among the many others, we also purchased Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts, which is recommended for engaged couples. This is the one I wanted to get right away because Casey and I have a desire to mentor engaged couples to prepare for great marriages from the very beginning. We hope to help other couples in the future to prepare for this incredible journey of marriage, as we continue to learn God's plan for our own marriage. Well, I'm off to read with Casey!
