We are now officially a one-income family. My wonderful hubby has been going to grad school full-time and working a 48-hour job in a management position. We had decided that he needed to quit his job so that he could focus on school. He is doing some part-time work and odd jobs and looking for a more semi-permanent part-time job. We are going to be living on my (private school teacher's) salary for a little while. We have been so incredibly blessed in every way. Months before we were even considering this decision, we began meeting with a friend from church who helps with financial planning. We have been on the Dave Ramsey plan for quite a while and are almost totally debt free except for student loans. We have no car payments and no credit card debt! Yea!! After meeting with our friend from church, we set up a savings plan. For the first time in our marriage, we have a decent-sized emergency fund, life insurance, etc. to provide us the security we need. God's timing is so perfect! Casey is also being very diligent and has already lined up several things this week to make some extra money. We will be sticking to our healthy eating, and I will be working even harder to make it more affordable. I always enjoy a good challenge!
Monday - Grilled chicken and veggies
Tuesday - Grilled Salmon, broccoli, and salad
Saturday - Tuna Casserole (Using whole wheat penne instead of macaroni, reduced fat cream cheese, whole wheat bread crumbs, Smart Balance instead of butter, and reduced fat/calorie cream of mushroom soup)
I am using almost all ingredients that we already have on hand. I purchased fresh salmon and tilapia today at Publix for free except tax using overage from other items! For the whole week since we already had so much frozen and in our stockpile, I spent under $10!! Yea!!

Congratulations! It's great to read about how young couples are working together.
The best advice we received was to have a goal that you work towards as a couple.
It took me and the hubby awhile but these days we're much happier working together to create a life together.
